HelpSTAR Landing Pages

HelpSTAR Landing Pages

Client Name: Help Desk Technology Corporation

External Link: Sample Mailer Landing Page

Target Audience: IT Professionals.

Concept: Previous landing pages were simply an image of the ad – usually the brochure – with 4 to 5 links to they provided little to no information about the product at first glance and had no clear call to action. We needed something with a clear result, something that gave enough information but let them know what we wanted them to do.

Issues: A very smooth run through this project, very few changes, the only major conflict was about the display of the videos, to have them play inline or pop up in a window was a debate, and required some creative thinking.

Process: Using the recently updated website layout as a guide I created a handful of mock-ups in Photoshop for approval, and a design was chosen. Content was pulled up from both the website and the brochure. The page was created in HTML and CSS with some minor JavaScript, I then had to work with development to make sure that everything worked with their tracking of the CDs as well as with our other tracking into HelpSTAR. I then worked with QA to test and make sure everything was perfect, and then launched them with the March Mailers, changing over all other landing pages to the same style.

Outcome/Results: The landing pages are much more affective now.

Side Roads Magazine

Side Roads Magazine

Client Name: Metroland North Media Group

Target Audience: Cottagers, homeowners and retirees in the Muskoka area centralized around Haliburton.

Concept: Each ad had its own focus; the ads I worked on were: SIRCH Community Services, Winterdance Dogsled Tours, and Bear Rock Bed & Breakfast.

Issues: The medium that the Sideroads Magazine is printed on is a little closer to newsprint, so I had to take into account just how much it might bleed and how the colours would appear on a darker paper. This magazine is also a little larger than a normal magazine format, so it was important that the details be clean.

Process: Working with a Photographer and a Sales Representative we created 3 ads for the magazine: SIRCH Community Services which needed to remind people of their community of Haliburton and encourage them to donate; Winterdance Dogsled Tours, this ad was directed to parents and children that would be interested in seeing playful working dogs in action; and Bear Rock Bed & Breakfast which really needed to show that nature-loving side of the client.

Outcome/Results: All 3 clients were very happy with their ads and have continued to purchase ad space from the magazine.

Produced: Summer 2008

HelpSTAR Collateral Package

HelpSTAR Collateral Package

Client Name: Help Desk Technology Corporation

Target Audience: IT Professionals.

Concept: A sales information package for sending either digitally – PDF format over e-mail – or by courier.

Issues: Because of multiple sales consultants and custom changes depending on the client and whether or not it was for an RFP, RFI, Reseller or Potential Client the pages needed to be interchangeable, easily editable and be able to print on the in-house laser printer in acceptable quality.

Process: Working with another designer for concepts, we finally found a new layout that the sales team and manager were happy to send to prospective clients.

Outcome/Results: The sales consultants

Produced: January 2011

Metroland Specialty Shows and Magazines

Metroland Specialty Shows and Magazines

Client Name: Metroland Digital Media Group

External Link: Metroland's Website

Target Audience: The target audience varied between the show or magazine’s specialty.

Role: Working in production, taking layouts and plans provided to me, using them to build HTML Newsletters and Surveys to be sent out. I was also responsible for maintaining multiple websites using varying content management systems.

HelpSTAR Mailers

HelpSTAR Mailers

Client Name: Help Desk Technology Corporation

Target Audience: IT Professionals, though depending on the mailing list we used it could also be directed at health care professionals or financial professionals.

Concept: A 4-panel brochure with CD pouch to be sent out at least 4 times a year. The theme will change with each mailing, but outside of adding additional features, or updating testimonials the content would stay the same.

Issues: Since the content and layout was 90% defined each time the brochures do not involve a lot of creative flexibility.

Process: My role in the process was in the production, I would be given the content that the president wanted to send out, and find a way to balance the information on the cover and first flap of the brochure. Once he was happy with the result I would send the files to both printers and review the proofs with my manager. Once we were happy with the proofs we both would sign off and they’d be sent for printing and sent out to our mailing lists.

Outcome/Results: When the CDs are sent out traffic to the site and product demos increased significantly.

Produced: 4+ times a year
